Pepitama LimitedSocial Discovery, which operates Aveola ("Aveola", "we", "us" or "our"), wants you to understand exactly how cookies work on our service and what control you have over them. This page walks through what we use, why, and how to change your mind at any point.
Already familiar with cookies and just here to change your settings? You can open your cookie preferences right away, or adjust them from your privacy settings inside the app.
Prefer the full picture first? Read on — we've kept it plain.
One thing to note: this page only covers cookies and similar technologies. For everything else about how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small file that a website saves in your browser or on your device. It usually holds the name of the site that created it, an expiry date, and a unique string of characters that identifies your browser. Depending on how it's used, a cookie can also carry details like your settings or a record of what you did while using the service.
Some cookies are ours (first-party) — we set them directly, for example to keep your chosen language or to see how the service is used. Others are set by companies we work with (third-party), such as the providers that handle analytics or campaign measurement for us. You can always see which partners are involved, and switch their cookies on or off, through the consent tools described under “How can you control cookies?” below.
Session cookies disappear as soon as you close your browser — we rely on them for things that only need to last a single visit. Persistent cookies stick around longer, until they expire or you clear them; these are what let us recognise you when you come back, and what some of our analytics and measurement rely on.
Cookies help us run the service, keep it secure, and make it better — remembering your choices, recognising you on return visits, and understanding whether the campaigns that bring people to Aveola are actually working. Where useful, we may connect what a cookie tells us with other information we already hold about you.
Depending on how you use Aveola, some or all of the categories below may apply to your device.
Cookie categories
---
Necessary cookies. The essentials the service can't run without — signing you in, holding your session together, and protecting your account against abuse. These stay on and can't be turned off.
Functional cookies. These remember the preferences you set, like your language, and power conveniences such as logging in through a third-party account.
Analytics cookies. These show us how people actually use Aveola, so we can fix what's clunky and improve the experience over time.
Advertising cookies. We don't run ads inside Aveola. These cookies come from the ad platforms we advertise on, and their only job is to tell us whether our campaigns worked — connecting a sign-up back to the campaign that introduced you to us and measuring how well that spend performed.
You have a few ways to manage this. Keep in mind that turning cookies off can make parts of Aveola feel less tailored to you, and in some cases certain features may stop working altogether.
You can change your choices whenever you like through the cookie preferences on our website, or from the privacy section of your account inside the app.
Most browsers let you block cookies, delete them, or ask to be warned before one is stored — the exact steps differ by browser, so check its help section. On mobile, you can also reset or limit your device's advertising identifier in the device settings; again, where to find this varies by device.
